The Sister Accord Foundation Leadership Enrichment Tea Party Program

Our New Program Has Launched ~ The Sister Accord Leadership Enrichment Tea Party Tour

The Sister Accord Tea Party Program

The Sister Accord Tea Party Program is a Leadership Development program for High School girls presented by The Sister Accord Foundation, a 501c3 organization. The focus of the program is to help young women understand the importance of strong, healthy, positive relationships, with other young women, in their development as exceptional leaders. With 51% of the US workforce currently female, it will be essential to the viability and profitability of a company, or organization, to ensure that an environment of collaboration, not competition is promoted among its workers in order to deliver outstanding business results. The Sister Accord Foundation’s founder, Sonia Jackson Myles, has a vision that graduates of her Tea Party program will be a pipeline of talent for her partner companies in the form of co-op/internship opportunities during high school and college, ultimately leading to permanent positions upon graduation.  The 2015/2016 tour launched in Louisville, KY on August 15, 2015.  The Miami, FL event was held on September 26, 2015.  LA will be held on October 31, 2015.  All other dates are currently being confirmed.  If you are interested in attending the October 31 Tea Party as a Student (High School Age Girls) or Mentor (Adult Female), please RSVP with the links below:  Students ~ https://ll116.infusionsoft.com/app/page/sisteraccordpermission Mentors ~ https://ll116.infusionsoft.com/app/page/mentors

Author Inspires Women to Become Great Leaders through Great Relationships with Other Females

LOUISVILLE, KY - August 15, 2015 - Students and families have to deal with a myriad of concerns today, bullying being among them.  Sonia Jackson Myles, Founder, President & CEO of The Sister Accord Foundation is determined to make a difference in this regard.  As the founder of a movement that is focused on positive, supportive relationships among girls and women, she knows if we can show our students how to establish meaningful relationships with each other, we can stop the violence (self-inflicted or otherwise) that is plaguing our communities, states, nation and the globe.  She is also committed to having young women understand the possibilities for their lives.  As a result, she has added a STEM career focus for the 2015/2016 Leadership Enrichment Tea Party Tour.

With the launch of "The Sister Accord:  51 Ways To LOVE Your Sister" book, Jackson Myles has started what she calls "The Revolution of LOVE."  The Louisville event kicks off the 2015/2016 Tour.  The tour will visit 6 additional cities during this wave:  Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York City & Washington DC.  7 Tea Parties have been held to date across the country.  The teen girls will experience an afternoon of fun, learning, and leadership skills building.  They will learn the importance of Sisterhood and how essential it is in being a great leader.   Etiquette guru, Jacqueline M. Baker, from Scarlet Communications, will also share important tips on dining, grooming, and communication skills (particularly in the area of social media).  “We are confident that this program will ensure that the teen girls, in attendance, will make better choices.   Global Singer/Songwriter, Haben Abraham of The EriAm Sisters, will perform for the attendees.  "We are pleased to be collaborating with The Muhammad Ali Center for this amazing event,” said Jackson Myles.  Jeanie Kahnke, Muhammad Ali Center spokesperson shared “We are so excited to host the first Sister Accord Leadership Enrichment Tea Party of 2015 here in Louisville.  Sonia’s vision and mission to have 1 billion girls and women love and respect themselves and each other is so important in society today, and critical to achieving gender equality in the world.  We fully support her efforts.”

The Sister Accord Foundation is also pleased to have Toyota & Yum! Brands as new Corporate Partners this year.  “My dream is coming to life in a major way.  It is my desire to establish a pipeline of exceptional talent, via the Tea Party Program, for my Corporate Partners.  I'm both humbled and honored to partner with amazing companies such as Toyota & Yum! Brands!" said Jackson Myles. “Toyota is proud to be a corporate partner for the 2015 Kick-off Tour of the Sister Accord Leadership Enrichment Tea Party in Louisville.  The Sister Accord program is in alignment with Toyota’s commitment to Diversity & Inclusion.  The new STEM career focus that is being added to this year’s program will inspire many young women to consider this field as a personal profession.  It is innovative programs such as this that will make an impact to our society today and in the future–one young woman at a time,” shared Adrienne Trimble, General Manager, Diversity & Inclusion, Toyota.  Muhammad Ali Center Board member & Vice President, Public Affairs, Yum! Brands, Laurie Schalow, stated “We are honored to partner with Sonia and see her vision of empowering young women to become successful, compassionate leaders come to life.  If we all followed The Sister Accord, the world would be a much better place!”

Founder Jackson Myles said “I am on a mission to have 1 Billion girls and women live the principles of The Sister Accord.  I know how important it is to have positive, meaningful relationships with other females because it's how I live my life.    Mean girls grow up to be mean women, if there is no intervention.  I'm focused on helping girls understand that it begins with them.  If you love yourself, you will be able to give that love to others, and will see them as an extension of yourself, willing to do anything you can to help them.  ‘Great Leaders Have Great Relationships™’!"

Press Release From Cincinnati Tea Party ~ Sonia Jackson Myles, Founder of The Sister Accord, Receives Prestigious Honor from The State of Ohio

Community Leader and Author Earns Accolades For "High Tea" Self-Esteem Seminars for Teens & Sister Accord Day is proclaimed in the City of Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, Ohio - September 9, 2013 - Sonia Jackson Myles, founder of The Sister Accord, recently received a proclamation from the Senate of the General Assembly of Ohio. State Senator Eric H. Kearney presented the accolade during The Sister Accord High Tea event in Cincinnati on August 31.

"This is the highest honor the Senate of the General Assembly of Ohio gives with the exception of honors given to military persons who have passed away,” said Senator Kearney.

50 teenaged girls participated in The Sister Accord Tea Party, which was hosted and sponsored by Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza Hotel in an effort to support positive community engagement. Cincinnati Councilmember Yvette Simpson marked the occasion by declaring Sister Accord Day in the city.

"Sonia has been a tireless advocate for women's rights with a special focus on building confidence and communication skills in young women," said Michel A. Sheer, CHA, Managing Director, Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza. "We, at the hotel, are pleased to support Sonia in her work, and believe that this work can help lead to a better future for us all."

"The theme of the event was A Time To Feel Special. Those who attended will have an opportunity to participate in a follow-up session this Fall to further assist them in their development as successful global leaders." said Jackson Myles.

“There were many things that these young ladies could have been doing on a Saturday afternoon, but instead they chose to make an investment in themselves,” said Jackson Myles with great admiration. “They are such amazing young people who have set very stretching goals. Many of the attendees said that they want to be medical professionals-- doctors, psychologists, veterinarians, and therapists. It was such an inspiring group. With these young ladies as our future leaders, I'm confident that all will be well."

This High Tea was our first of ten nationwide. Jackson Myles hopes the other sessions will have the same degree of success.

"This type of exposure can only strengthen the skills of each teen girl. I am confident that this experience will help them make great choices for their journey. Every aspect of the day was planned in detail and each attendee received numerous special gifts."

"We want these young ladies to know that there are people, outside of their families, who care deeply about them and their success,” said Jackson Myles. “Our Sister Accord mentors were fantastic and took special care in working with the young ladies on the exercises we conducted." Award winning music artist from EnVogue and Sister Accord Foundation Trustee, Terry Ellis, sent a beautiful video greeting to the girls and created a Sister Accord journal for one lucky winner. The day closed with a beautiful gift giving ceremony when mentors presented each girl with a special pearl bracelet.

"Pearls are created as a result of an irritant in an oyster,” said Jackson Myles. “You too, will have irritants in your life. We all have irritants, but you must stay steadfast in knowing that perseverance will be the key to walking in your destiny. Don’t be discouraged. Learn the lessons and move forward."
