Our New Program Has Launched ~ The Sister Accord Leadership Enrichment Tea Party Tour

The Sister Accord Tea Party Program

The Sister Accord Tea Party Program is a Leadership Development program for High School girls presented by The Sister Accord Foundation, a 501c3 organization.  The focus of the program is to help young women understand the importance of strong, healthy, positive relationships, with other young women, in their development as exceptional leaders.  With 51% of the US workforce currently female, it will be essential to the viability and profitability of a company, or organization, to ensure that an environment of collaboration, not competition is promoted among its workers in order to deliver outstanding business results.  The Sister Accord Foundation’s founder, Sonia Jackson Myles, has a vision that graduates of her Tea Party program will be a pipeline of talent for her partner companies in the form of co-op/internship opportunities during high school and college, ultimately leading to permanent positions upon graduation.

PRESS RELEASES From Cincinnati, Detroit, Birmingham and Atlanta Tea Parties.  The remaining cities on the tour will be:  Chicago, Dallas (JULY 12, 2014), Los Angeles, Louisville, Nashville, New York, Seattle (NOVEMBER 1, 2014) and Washington, DC. Other dates are currently being confirmed.

Sonia Jackson Myles, Founder of The Sister Accord, Receives Prestigious Honor from The State of Ohio

Community Leader and Author Earns Accolades For "High Tea" Self-Esteem Seminars for Teens & Sister Accord Day is proclaimed in the City of Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, Ohio - September 9, 2013 - Sonia Jackson Myles, founder of The Sister Accord, recently received a proclamation from the Senate of the General Assembly of Ohio. State Senator Eric H. Kearney presented the accolade during The Sister Accord High Tea event in Cincinnati on August 31.

"This is the highest honor the Senate of the General Assembly of Ohio gives with the exception of honors given to military persons who have passed away,” said Senator Kearney.

50 teenaged girls participated in The Sister Accord Tea Party, which was hosted and sponsored by Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza Hotel in an effort to support positive community engagement.  Cincinnati Councilmember Yvette Simpson marked the occasion by declaring Sister Accord Day in the city.

"Sonia has been a tireless advocate for women's rights with a special focus on building confidence and communication skills in young women," said Michel A. Sheer, CHA, Managing Director, Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza.  "We, at the hotel, are pleased to support Sonia in her work, and believe that this work can help lead to a better future for us all."

"The theme of the event was A Time To Feel Special.  Those who attended will have an opportunity to participate in a follow-up session this Fall to further assist them in their development as successful global leaders." said Jackson Myles.

“There were many things that these young ladies could have been doing on a Saturday afternoon, but instead they chose to make an investment in themselves,” said Jackson Myles with great admiration. “They are such amazing young people who have set very stretching goals.  Many of the attendees said that they want to be medical professionals-- doctors, psychologists, veterinarians, and therapists.  It was such an inspiring group.  With these young ladies as our future leaders, I'm confident that all will be well."

This High Tea was our first of ten nationwide. Jackson Myles hopes the other sessions will have the same degree of success.

"This type of exposure can only strengthen the skills of each teen girl.  I am confident that this experience will help them make great choices for their journey. Every aspect of the day was planned in detail and each attendee received numerous special gifts."

"We want these young ladies to know that there are people, outside of their families, who care deeply about them and their success,” said Jackson Myles. “Our Sister Accord mentors were fantastic and took special care in working with the young ladies on the exercises we conducted."  Award winning music artist from EnVogue and Sister Accord Foundation Trustee, Terry Ellis, sent a beautiful video greeting to the girls and created a Sister Accord journal for one lucky winner.  The day closed with a beautiful gift giving ceremony when mentors presented each girl with a special pearl bracelet.

"Pearls are created as a result of an irritant in an oyster,” said Jackson Myles. “You too, will have irritants in your life.  We all have irritants, but you must stay steadfast in knowing that perseverance will be the key to walking in your destiny.  Don’t be discouraged.  Learn the lessons and move forward."

Sonia Jackson Myles, Leader of The Revolution of Love & Sister Accord Tea Party Tour, Inspires Teens in Atlanta to Dream Big & Deliver Big.

May 7, 2014 - Sonia Jackson Myles, Founder of The Sister Accord (http://www.theSisterAccord.com) recently held her fourth "Tea Party" of her Sister Accord Tea Party Tour in Atlanta, GA.   “I am thrilled that we were able to bring The Tea Party Tour to Atlanta, a city that is very special to me.  The young women in Atlanta were ready for this event and were hungry for exceptional mentoring, and that is exactly what they received.”

Jackson Myles has great momentum and strong sponsorships from companies such as Hilton Properties and TJ Maxx, helping to bring her dream to life of creating a pipeline of future global leaders who understand the importance and power of positive, collaborative relationships. This will assist an enterprise or organization in delivering exceptional results.  Kevin O’Leary, encouraged the young women to “take risks and to not be strangers to the Hilton Family.  We are here for you, make the connections,‘” he stated.  “I am so excited about the transformations that both the mentees and the mentors say they experience after one day together.  Imagine what we’ll be able to do when we begin our weekend and week-long offerings!” says Jackson Myles as she thinks about the future of The Sister Accord organization.

Atlanta Multi-media personality, Rashan Ali brought greetings to the teens and shared a powerful poem titled “What is A Sister?” to give the young women an idea of how special being a sister really is.  Sarah Jakes, Author & Daughter of the world renowned, Bishop TD Jakes, also spoke with the teens and shared her incredible story of her journey to fully loving herself, as discussed in her newly released book, Lost and Found.   The young women found Sarah’s story inspiring and loved her courage and honesty.  Sarah shared “As young women, we sometimes downplay who we are so that we can receive love from others.  We must really find people who will love us the way we are and inspire us to be better.  That is what The Sister Accord is all about.”  Haben Abraham, from the popular EriAm Sisters, shared her amazing singing talents with the students that ended with a standing ovation.  As one student shared, “I had no idea what to expect when I was invited to the Tea Party, but I walked away inspired and forever changed as a result of my attendance.”  Jackson Myles adds “It is my intention to share exercises and models that help the young women understand that it all begins with self-love.  Once you get comfortable in your own skin, you will begin to see other females as an extension of yourself and your view of them being “competition or the enemy” begins to be reframed.  It’s a powerful shift that occurs when people (both students and adults) attend my seminars and tea parties.”

In 2014, The Sister Accord Tea Party Tour will visit the following remaining cities:  Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Louisville, Nashville, New York, Seattle and Washington DC.
